As many of you know, I am a fan of the Huginn. I did not realize how much of a fan until this:

Yes, my veritiable fit that I use with such success fell today in battle. My own fault really.. I got to close and they neuted the life outta me and I could not escape their disruptors. No excuse for that.. I know better. But no big deal right? I’ve lost ships before.. expensive Battleships and HACs. I just hop in my spare and go again. But this time.. it seemed to hurt more.
And this is why: http://paxton-federation.info/killboard/?a=pilot_detail&plt_id=59306&view=ships_weapons
That one Huginn.. had 70 kills to its name. 70 other ships felt the sting of my Huginn, perhaps some of whom discarded its value.. only to realize too late that its grasp doesn’t let go easily. It was a good ship… and there will be another. And it too will see the battlefield.
As a fellow Matari pilot, I understand the sense of connection to our ships. I lost my hurricane to a WH wolfpack after two and a half years of faithful service and wanton destruction.
As an Industrualist and mission runner I do not PvP by choice, but neither do I slink from battle when I find myself engaged. I go where profit takes me, be it empire, wormhole, or lawless space.
The Leper Messiah fell to a Proteus assisted by a Loki and a Legion in C5 wormhole space. It was not a peaceful death and she did not go quietly. The damage she inflicted upon the enemy was not slight. Even under the combined assault of the three ships, we nearly destroyed the loki before all systems failed.
It was a battle we could not win even under perfect circumstances, and I am proud of her final stand. Her drifting wreckage will stand forever as a final memorial to her service.
Eh. I picked your blog up through your buddy. He gave you a plug via CK’s blogg pack on Capsuleer (iPhone). I’ve got you bookmarked. I really appreciate the Minmatar content and ship fits. Keep it coming. Interesting build on the Cranky Old Man. I just might train recon up and give it a whirl. 70 kills – you have a typical tactic or is that through normal group support? Catch you soon.
This is from normal group support. But considering we generally do roaming ops everyday it is pretty impressive.. because not all of our roaming ops go well.
