Here is what Reddit has on the latest SiSi updates, from nuadi (http://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/x2nlc/new_mining_barges_with_fitting_details_from_sisi/):

Nuadi writes:

“The new changes are on Sisi so I started experimenting with various fits. If you can’t get onto the server and have a request just let me know. I’ll try to field a fit if I have the skills.

Ice and Mercoxit rigs are currently unavailable. I will update fits after they are seeded.

Mining Behavior: All ore collected goes into the ore hold. Excess ore from a mining cycle will NOT go into the standard cargohold automagically. You will have to move ore into the hold manually if desired. You can jettison directly from the ore hold (but this is a bad idea. Never do it. never ever eva eva eva)

Ship maintenance bay: You can scoop/place a Retriever, or other hulls, into the ship maintenance bay while there is Ore currently in the Retriever. Therefore, if you are hauling ore from point A to point B, make sure to bring two Mackinaws in the ship maintenance bay to fill them with another 72k+ ore.

Status: Okay, this is all of the information I can think of collecting. I’m still waiting on rigs for merc and ice, so I will update after those are seeded. I need to get back to work, but I will check in to see if there are any other questions. I will have Sisi running in case I think of something.

REQUEST: A Ganker. I’m presently located in Eram (Metropolis). If you want to (try to) gank me, drop me a line in-game on Nuadi.

Ice Harvesting cycle time

To save time I’m just building a table…

  • T2+T2 = T2 Turrets and T2 IHUs using all available low slots
  • m3/sec is calculated using the best time available for that hull
Hull T2+T2 T2+T2+Rig m3/cycle m3/sec
Hulk 248.43 3,000 12.08
Mackinaw 178.96 2,000 11.18
Skiff 98.33 1,000 10.17
Covetor 263.96 3,000 11.37
Retriever 188.37 2,000 10.62
Procurer 103.5 1,000 9.66

(end quotes)

One thing not directly laid out was the slot setup/drone bay:

  • Hulk – 3 Highs, 4 Mids, 2 Lows – 50m3 drone space
  • Mackinaw – 2 Highs, 4 Mids, 3 Lows – 50m3 drone space
  • Skiff – 1 High, 5 Mids, 2 Lows – 15m3 drone space
  • Covetor – 3 Highs, 1 Mid, 2 lows – 50m3 drone space
  • Retriever – 2 Highs, 1 Mid, 3 lows – 25m3 drone space
  • Procurer – 1 High, 1 Mid, 2 lows – 5 m3 drone space

The jump up from Procurer to Skiff definately the most pronounced, with double the overall slots all of the midslots.  Likely, with the popularity of the ASB, we’re probably going to see more active tank setups than buffer tanks.

The things that surprised/disappointed me from this:

A.) The removal of the +2 warp strength bonus from the Skiff.  To me, that is a bad change.  It doesn’t matter how well tanked you are, if you don’t have any offensive capabilities you aren’t leaving the area alive.  Skiffs and Procurers should BOTH have improved warp strength bonuses because nothing else (besides giving them the ability to attack) will allow it to GTFO when they are in trouble.

B.) Drones.  It looks like these haven’t changed since before the updates and it definately looks wrong.  The two “battleship class” mining barges/exhumers, designed to work in hostile areas, don’t have the drone capability to fend off anything more than high-sec NPC frigate rats.  Personally, the Procurer needs to be no less than 50m3 for drones, and the Skiff should be at 100m3 for drones.  Essentially, they need to have the capacity to defend against frigates with scrams and disruptors.  On the flipside, with Hulks and Covetors essentially being team-only ships, their drone capabilities should be reduced to say 15-20m3 for the Covetor and 25 to 40m3 for the Hulk.

Fortunately, they are still works in progress, and that means that we will see more changes before they become reality.  In the meantime, I am looking forward to getting my minefreak on.. if ya know what I mean..
