Yes.. Brown.

The color of dirt, the color of rust, the color of decay.

EveNews24 (here: http://www.evenews24.com/2012/06/11/video-jonnypew-showcases-new-minmatar-ship-models-in-sisi/) showcased some of the changes done in the V3 Minmatar update.  These were grabbed by JonnyPew, who has a channel on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/JonnyPew), so check it out.

If you go through the videos that JonnyPew put on his channel regarding the Minmatar Changes, you’ll find that Rixx Javix over at Eveoganda must have bribed them good.  The new updated ships stayed largely the same, with a more visible paint scheme.  Here’s what we can deduce thus far:

  • Tier 1 Minmatar: Light brown to Brown
  • Tier 2 Thukker – Grey/silver Patchwork or Camo
  • Tier 2 Core Complexions – Charcoal Black
  • Tier 2 Boundless Creation – Light Brown/Dark Brown Desert or Leopard Camo

The Good

Claymore, Rapier and the Prowler came out as winners.  All three look nasty and evil.  The Jaguar (Thukker paint), Wolf (Boundless Creation), and Stiletto (Core Complexion) also look pretty nice.

The Bad

Fleet Issue Tempest lost its square sails.. and the Boundless Creation paint scheme doesn’t show very well.. and unless you look real hard, the difference between that and the standard Tier 1 paint scheme is not noticable.

The Ugly

This.. this will cause a riot.  The change made to the Vagabond removed its iconic wings (the ones placed just behind the “head” of the ship).  Now it looks like a silver Stabber.  Not sure who thought that would be an improvement.. but you can bet there will be push back.  It is like trading Natalie Portman or Scarlett Johanssen for the average cowboy bar girl.  The performance may be the same, but you want to have a lot more face time with the first.

I suspect that if that there should be some blowback to that change…right… about ….
